Deleted a fake anti virus, but now computer is mess up?

Ok so I was able to get on the internet when I had this fake anti virus called vista antivirus 2012. I downloaded a anti malware from CNET malwarebytes. Anyways it got rid of the virus, but now none of my icons will open up! I click on mozzilla and it asks me to open with all these options like adobe and internet explorer. My trend micro woudnt open up at all. The malwarebytes would open up if I ran as administrator. Trend wouldnt. I can get on internet explorer and thats it. If I opened up mozzilla using internet explorer it would ask me to download mozzilla. So I went to my moms side of the computer and everything works fine, I even ran trend and it said I was afe, as I did delete the virus. So whats the problem? Nothing was uninstalled as I went to the programs list and it was there. Should I system restore? What is system restore lol I foget>
