Intermittent electrical failure in 2002 Ford Focus.?

Car will run fine, then all of a sudden will stall and then not start again. Or I'll get home and park, then next time I try to start the car, nothing happens. It won't do anything until I jiggle the cables attaching to the battery. Any corrosion found has been removed and the wires rewired. Has anyone else had this issue? What caused it and how did you fix it? We're wanting to sell the car, but can't if it won't start! Plus I'm concerned about being stranded with no way home.
