Pain when I open my mouth; what is it?

The past few days whenever I open my mouth wide or sometimes when I chew food, it hurts on the right side of my face, in front of my ear. My dad thinks it might be from clenching my jaws at night. But since I have no way of knowing if I do that, what might be some other possibilities? Could wisdom teeth cause this problem?
